Great Himalaya Trail 2026

Expedition Electronics

We got the information from other trekkers that they could charge their banks mostly the entire way in the tea houses. Ghunsa, Olangchun Gola, and Lingham/Hongon were 100% fine. Yangla Kharka was a challenge due to cloud and the Guest House had limited power supply from their solar. Makalu was also a challenge as it was busy. Makalu BC was the only part of the trip we had to be conservative with power from a single 10,000 mAh bank.

They had small solar panels but didn’t use them much. When they really needed the solar panels to work, it was too cloudy. (April thru August). Other trekkers however had no issues with the same panels in Sep-Dec.

Recommendation was given that two Nitecore 10,000mAh would be a good solution and if possible to keep them fully charged whenever possible.
